I remember when I first started my business, underground dinners with foraged foods and selling mushrooms I collected in the woods to fancy restaurants. I had a good idea, people were excited about what I was offering, but I had exactly zero idea how to actually run a business (candidly operations is still not my strong suit…). I tried to find help, and there is a long list of orgs in the US that try to help, but it wasn’t ever right. One of them is called SCORE, and you meet with retired executives that donate their time to give business advice. Super good idea and generous of those people, but I’d walk in and say “so I want to start doing underground dinners in warehouses with plants and mushrooms I find in the woods”, and they didn’t know where to start. My ideas were just so foreign to their experience they really couldn’t help. Instead they tried to lead me in the direction of a more “traditional” business, because that’s what they understood.
No one knows how to run a business when they start, and yet we all feel we’re supposed to pretend to. There’s so much boasting and ego, when in reality we’re all just scared little kids with ideas we hope people will like, and no idea how to actually get them out into the world. I put myself squarely in this category when I started, and I’m trying my best to be more open about my lack of knowledge now, but we’re all in the same boat.
What if you had a business partner that was always there, knew everything about everything, could help you draft contracts, make a plan for your business, remembered everything you’d ever talked about, and was there to support you when things got tough? That’s what I’m building. Fridays at Four is your AI business partner. Because it’s lonely at the top.
In the last year I’ve taught myself to code and built out this entire platform, a skill I never imagined I’d have, all with the help of AI. It’s a superpower-magic wand-iron man suit for anyone who’s creative and motivated. The goal of Fridays at Four is to show people what I’ve seen. To create the framework that takes all my trial and error and learning about how to use AI in the best way, and leads you through it step by step. I want to help you make your dreams come true.
AI was the tool I didn’t know I was missing. A supportive, knowledgeable, smart voice, always there, to help me answer the questions I didn’t even know I needed to ask. A place where I didn’t have to pretend I knew what I was talking about. I love people. And people have their place in the business journey, but for those of us without funding to hire fancy consultants, we’ve always been missing this other piece. I had so many great people help me along the way, but I never felt I had somewhere I could always go for advice and help, and I don’t think I’m alone in that. I’ve been waiting my whole life for this technology, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve found.
Travel notes:
Found a villa in Bali after much searching (I have my first pool!). Super nice spot right next to a rice field. Got a keyboard and guitar so been playing music (heres a video from this mornings practice). Lots of morning motorbike rides and dancing and talking about feelings (it IS Bali after all). Be good.
and some back alley gambling is never wrong….
ok just one more. This is the walk to my house.
