Lets get cringe.
In the AI future all we'll have is our human messiness. Everything perfect will be taken. But can we get over our fear of being "too much" and really show the world whats unique to us?
Something Ive been thinking a lot about is exposing messiness. We all try to present ourselves to the world as perfectly formed beings, without anxiety or issues or pimples or really needs of any kind. It’s always been true that people are drawn towards people being authentic, but the future I see with AI, thats all we’ll have. Perfection will be the domain of AI, we won’t be able to do anything “better” than it can, so all we’ll have it the “better” that is unique to us. Whatever makes us uniquely us, thats all we’ll have to share with the world. I think it’s always been true that this is the way to really succeeding at being a human. Finding the thing that is most special to us, and find a way to get it out into the world in a way that people can really see it and understand it. This is becoming even more true. The only thing that will be scarce in the AI future is human uniqueness, so nows the time to start showing it to the world. What do you think? Does this feel true? Whats the way you think we can show our uniqueness without all becoming messy overshareres? Or maybe thats exactly what stops us, the fear of oversharing, of being cringe. It’s the people that lean into that and dont fear that line that can do this well. What do you think? I want to hear!
